Getting to Winton

Located in Central Western Queensland, Winton is 180km north-west of Longreach, 470km south-east of Mout Isa and 1,500km from Brisbane. So, it’s just a short hike.

By Air
Air Regional Express (REX) flies to Winton on Tuesday and Thursdays, in a loop departing from Townsville.  Qantaslink flights from Brisbane connect with these flights in Longreach. 

Daily Qantaslink flights from Brisbane to Longreach, where there are two hire car companies – Avis and Budget so you can drive direct to Winton from Longreach.

Daily Greyhound coach services operate from Brisbane to Mount Isa, stopping in Winton.

By Train
Queensland Rail’s Spirit of the Outback rail services run twice-weekly Brisbane to Longreach, with a coach link to Winton.

Car Hire
Budget and Avis rental car agencies are based at Longreach Airport and advanced bookings are recommended.
