Our emphasis will always be on quality, taste and food provenance. Our menus are seasonally driven and we like to know how the produce we cook and serve is grown and where it comes from. We use locally reared meats from Channel Country’s world-renowned grazing country, and our seafood is flown in from the Coral Sea and The Gulf of Carpenteria, within hours of the catch.
From gourmet outback menus throughout the hotel and à la carte in the Daphne Mayo dining room, to flat-iron steak slow-cooked over 100-year-old gidgee wood on the fire pit in Banjo’s Beer Garden, we’ve got every base covered. Plus we grow fruit and veg onsite thanks to a revolutionary aquaponics system.
At the famous North Gregory we are all about comfort. That’s why our DAPHNE MAYO DINING ROOM is the perfect place to unwind and enjoy wholesome country fare with a glass of specially selected wine or ale. While you’re here, make sure you check out the skilfully-etched sandblasted glass doors by renowned Australian sculptor Daphne Mayo.
The Mayo Dining Room is open for Lunch and Dinner. We also offer themed dinners throughout the week with live entertainment. Make sure you don’t miss out on these exclusive performances. If our fine dining isn’t your cup of tea, that’s alright. We also have THE HORSESHOE BAR and BANJO’S BEER GARDEN.
Perfect for sports fans, guests and patrons can catch all of the action on one of our plasma screens. We serve only the best beers, but if you’re in the mood for something fancy, be sure to ask our staff about the Grand Old Lady’s secret cocktail list.
In our family-friendly courtyard, we also have a climbing adventure stand that’ll keep the young ones entertained for hours. Finally, the MUSIC FENCE CAFE is the perfect place to let your hair down and relax. This chilled, creative atmosphere is open for breakfast, lunch, and takeaway. It also has GREAT coffee.
ABOUT OUR FOOD
Our wholesome fare celebrates traditional recipes that embrace the history and character of Outback Australia. Simplicity and purity of flavour is important to us.
Dining at the Grand Old Lady showcases a seasonally driven menu that focuses on where the ingredients came from and how they are grown. Most of our vegetables are grown in our garden, and we source the balance of quality produce locally and regionally.
We use only the finest meats from the best grazing country, and the freshest seafood from the Coral Sea and The Gulf, delivered within hours of the catch.
To ensure that we offer the finest Outback all-day dining classic meals, our dedicated chefs hand make all menu items — from flavoursome sauces to delicious baked pasties and delectable desserts. You will want to come back time and time again.
