Banjo’s Theatre of Fire

Banjo’s Theatre of Fire

Entertainment at The Gregory takes inspiration from the characters and stories of the channel country. Banjo’s Theatre of Fire is an immersive theatre show that tells the story of the swagman on the lam and is set around the campfire with a slow cooked meal.

Gidgee oven cooking

Gidgee wood enhances the natural flavour of our locally grown meat and vegetables. The 100 year old wood is hot burning and is a lot denser than ironbark meaning it lasts for a long, slow burn. We are proud to be able to cook over this wood and infuse our wood fired cuisine with the heart and soul of this land.

Hydrotherapy spa

The outdoor spa, located near the entertainment area is the only one of its kind in the area. The health benefits range from easing back pain, enhancing sleep, improving heart health, and decreasing anxiety and stress.

The outdoor beer garden

The newly renovated outdoor entertainment area has multiple bars, a stage and barbecue area. Perfect for an afternoon beer or wine, or to sit in and relax in front of a nightly show. Enjoy wood fired pizzas, roasts and Banjo’s famous camp-oven dinners.

Live entertainment at The Gregory

Dedicated to honouring our outback’s rich music history The Gregory showcases a mix of up and coming artists and contemporary chart-toppers. The Gregory aims to become a one-of-kind music experience of the west. Live music is every Friday and Saturday night, and Sunday afternoon, with monthly box office shows.

The home of Outback Australia films

The home of Outback Australia films

In Winton you are on the set of Australian cinema history. Its rich history and picturesque landscape have appeared on feature films and Australian television alike. The Proposition, Mystery Road, and Texas Rising: The lost soldier are all feature movies that have been shot in the Winton area.

Boulder Opals

Boulder Opals

Winton is one of the oldest and most famous mining towns in Australia. Boulder opals are very unique and are mined from large ironstone boulders under the ground. They can only be found in the areas of Quilpie and of course, Winton. They are the second most valuable type of opal and have a layer of solid brown ironstone on the back of the stone.
